Our Programs Express Entry

Seeking a permanent residency in Canada? The Express Entry Program can be your pathway.

Introduced in 2015, Express Entry is the quickest and most sought-after method for both individuals and families to immigrate to Canada. This expedited system was put into place to enable potential immigrants with a particular skill or work experience to complete the immigration process within a few short months through one of three Federal Economic Programs.

These include the Federal Skilled Worker Program (for example doctors, professionals, managers or engineers), the Federal Skilled Trades Program (welders, electricians, machinists, cooks, carpenters and more), and the Canadian Experience Class for those who have at least one year of previous work or study experience in Canada.

How does Express Entry work?

Candidates are assigned a multi-factored score (out of 600 points) based on their career history, work skills, age, education, language abilities and additional factors such as adaptability. They then will be ranked against other candidates in what is called the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

Following this, Canada’s immigration authorities will draw the top-ranking candidates from the Express Entry Pool, held about every two weeks. After which, qualifying candidates will receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) to formally apply for permanent residency. The Canadian government is committed to processing all applications within 6 months of submission.

Improving your chances in the Express Entry draw

While in the pool, you may improve your chances of success by increasing your CRS score at any time. This includes elevating your ranking through obtaining a qualifying job offer, increasing Canadian work experience, improving language scores, upgrading educational credentials or receiving a provincial nomination (a Provincial Nominee Program) which will give you up to an additional 600 points.

Express Entry Will Be Used To Manage Applications For Specific Federal/Provincial Immigration Programs: The Express Entry program is being used to manage applications for permanent residence under the three most prominent federal immigration programs:

The best option for those seeking to immigrate to Canada but don't obtain a job offer is to apply for Express Entry Programs. Express Entry is a point-based system that manages applicants seeking permanent residency for those who can fill jobs where there is a lack of available skilled Canadian workers.

You need to have a minimum of 67 points out of 100 to be eligible to apply under the Express Entry program. The Canada Express Entry process follows a points-based system for classifying applicants seeking to settle in Canada. The points are awarded to clients based on a Comprehensive Ranking System or CRS.
